Learn how to make 1-minute microwave mug cake. Whether you're a chocolate person or a vanilla person, you will love these easy mug cake recipes. Both of these recipes are easy to prepare and require only a few minutes of work. Even though these cakes are baked in the microwave they still come out moist and delicious.
INGREDIENTS
Chocolate mug cake
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Milk
- 1/3 cup (42g) All-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons (30g) Butter, melted
- 4 tablespoons (50g) Sugar
- 2 tablespoons (15g) Cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Pinch Salt
- 1oz (30g) Dark chocolate chips/chunks
Vanilla mug cake
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp. (50g) All-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Milk
- 1 Egg
- 2 tablespoons (30g) Butter, melted
- 4 tablespoons (50g) Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- pinch Salt
DIRECTIONS
Chocolate mug cake:
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cocoa powder.
- Add milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract and stir until combined and smooth. Stir in chocolate chunks.
- Transfer the batter into 2 microwave save mugs, fill only 2/3, place the mug (one at the time) in the center and cook for 60 seconds, or until it has stopped rising and is firm to the touch.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
Vanilla mug cake:
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
- Add milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract and stir until combined and smooth.
- Transfer the batter into 2 microwave safe mugs, fill only 2/3, place the mug (one at the time) in the center and cook for 60-70 seconds, or until it has stopped rising and is firm to the touch.
- Serve immediately and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes:
If after 60 seconds your mug cake is not cooked through, cook for 15-30 seconds more, until the cake is cooked through.
